National Subsistence Technical-Planning Meeting For the Protection of Tradtional & Tribal Life-ways
On April 13, 2003, fifty representatives of tribes from across the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Alaska Native Science Commission met for “A Subsistence Technical/Planning Meeting for the Protection of Traditional and Tribal Lifeways” in Anchorage, Alaska. The meeting had three purposes:
1. Identify issues and concerns regarding contaminants in Traditional Foods.
2. Discuss issues, resources, and gapsregarding contaminants and how they affect tribal ways.
3. Share stories, information, and knowledge to develop the process and structure to protect traditional ways of life.

Northwest Alaska Regional Meeting Report
On January 22- 24, 2003, the Alaska Native Science Commission (ANSC), funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), brought together a group of 50 individuals to discuss opportunities, interests, and needs for developing community research priorities in Northwest Alaska.

Southcentral Alaska Regional Meeting Report
On May 13 and 14, 2003, the Alaska Native Science Commission (ANSC), funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), brought together a group of 30 individuals to discuss opportunities, interests, and needs for developing community research plans in Southcentral Alaska.

Southeast Alaska Regional Meeting Report
On January 22 and 23, 2004, the Alaska Native Science Commission (ANSC), funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), brought together a group of 40 individuals to discuss opportunities, interests, and needs for developing community research priorities in Southeast Alaska.

Yukon-Kuskokwim Alaska Regional Meeting Report
On March 11 - 12, 2004 the Alaska Native Science Commission (ANSC), funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), gathered approximately 30 individuals to discuss opportunities, interests, and concerns for developing community research priorities in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region of Alaska.
