Anne Marie Walker, ANSC Treasurer
Anne Marie
Walker was born in Kotzebue, Alaska and graduated from Kotzebue
Community College as valedictorian of her graduating class.
She received her Bachelors in Biology from Alaska Methodist University
(now Alaska Pacific University) and earned a Master ís degree in
Public Health Science from the University of Hawaii in 1981.
Ms. Walker worked for the Norton Sound Health Corporation
as a dietician and WIC coordinator before being promoted to Director
of Community Health Services. The Alaska Native Health Board
hired her in 1990 as their Executive Director, there she worked on
the Health Board's mission to promote the spiritual, physical, mental,
social and cultural well-being of Alaska's Native people.
